What the index measures
- Drop-in: the single-class, non-member rate each studio publishes. Intro and first-timer prices, sale prices and day passes that are not the only single-visit price are excluded.
- 10-class pack: a pack of exactly ten classes, read from the package label ("10-class pass", "10 class pack", "10 sessions"). Promotional packs are excluded. Validity differs by studio and is in each label.
- Monthly unlimited: unlimited classes for one month, four weeks or 30 days. Weekend-only, off-peak, intro and longer plans are excluded.
- Each studio counts once per metric. Branches of the same chain count separately because each publishes its own rate.
- A figure is shown only with 4 or more studios. Medians are less swayed by one premium studio than averages, so the index uses medians with the full range and quartiles in the CSV.
- Sources: published rates in
studios.json, each with a source link on the studio profile and verified as described in how we verify studios. Dataset date October 2026 (2026-10).

Questions
How often is the Yoga Price Index updated?
It is recomputed every time the site builds, from the current studio data. When the weekly upkeep changes a published price, the change is logged in the changelog on this page with the date and the old and new rate.
Why is my city missing from the price index?
A city appears for a price type only when 4 or more of its studios publish that price. Smaller samples are folded into the national row instead of being shown on their own.
How is a monthly unlimited plan defined in the index?
A plan that allows unlimited classes for one month, four weeks or 30 days. Weekend-only, off-peak, promotional and intro plans are left out, as are longer memberships.
