What the app does

The app has five tabs. Each one does a single job well, and they all work without a connection once the app has opened once.

Practice

Quick sessions of 10, 20 and 30 minutes, themed sessions for mornings, evenings, hips, the back and balance, every sequence on the site, and a flow builder. Two taps from opening the app to the first pose.

Player

A full-screen card for each pose: a line drawing, the English and Sanskrit names, a one-line cue, a large hold timer and the next pose. Sided poses play left, then right. Pause, skip, go back or restart a pose.

Poses

Filter the pose library and the stretch moves by body area, level, type and props. Save favourites, open a random pose, and see the same pose of the day as the site.

Programs

The four free programs, with today's session at the top. Ticks are shared with the program pages, so progress you made there carries over.

Studios

Search 177 studios by name, city, style and published class times. When you want a teacher, the studio finder on the site has the full detail.

Me

A practice log filled in when a session ends, a 12-week calendar, minutes per week and days in a row. Edit or delete anything, and export it as a file. Practice when it suits you.

Build and share your own flow

The flow builder is the upgraded sequence builder. Search for poses or filter by body area, drag them into order (or use the move buttons), and set a hold for each one. Turn on transitions and the app adds a bridge pose wherever you would jump levels, such as lying down to standing, and it can finish with Savasana on its own. The total time updates as you go.

Save the flow on your phone, print it as a one-page sheet or as cards, or share it. A shared link carries the whole flow inside it, so a friend can play it in their browser without an account and without installing anything.

Install it on your phone

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open yogaphilippines.com/app/ in Safari.
  2. Tap Share (the square with an arrow).
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Android

  1. Open yogaphilippines.com/app/ in Chrome.
  2. Tap Install above, or open the menu (three dots).
  3. Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.

Reminders without notifications

The app never sends notifications. If a nudge helps, pick your days and a time and download a calendar file: your own calendar reminds you, and nothing is sent to us.

Days

A .ics file for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Offline and private

The first time the app opens, it saves its screens, the pose data and the line drawings on your phone. After that you can practise in a provincial resort, on a ferry or in a condo gym with no signal. When you are online, it quietly checks for updates.

There is no account. The app does not track what you practise, and nothing you save leaves your device: your log, flows and favourites sit in your browser's storage. Clear them from the Me tab, or export a copy first. Voice cues use the voices built into your phone, and the chime is generated on the device, so no audio is downloaded.

Where the sessions come from

Every pose, hold time and cue comes from the site's own pose pages and stretching routines. The starter sessions follow a simple order: warm up, build, a peak, counter-poses, cool down and rest. Each pose in the player links back to its full page with steps and easier versions.

Safety noteYoga is not medical care. Stop if anything feels sharp, pinching or numb, and see a doctor or physiotherapist about pain or an injury before you practise. If you are pregnant or have recently given birth, check with your OB or midwife first. Read the health and safety note.

App questions

Is the YogaPH app really free?

Yes. Every session, the flow builder, the programs, the practice log and the studio list are free, with no account, no trial and no ads. It is part of YogaPhilippines.com.

Do I need to download it from an app store?

No. It is a web app: it opens in your phone browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens full screen like any other app. On iPhone use Safari, Share, Add to Home Screen. On Android, Install app in the Chrome menu.

Does the yoga app work without internet?

Yes. After it has opened once with a connection, it saves itself on your phone. Sessions, poses, programs, your flows and the studio list then work offline, for example in a condo gym with no signal.

What happens to my practice log?

It stays in your browser on your device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. You can export it as a file and import it on another phone, and delete it any time from the Me tab.

Can the app talk me through a session?

Yes, if you turn on voice cues. Your phone reads the pose name and how to come in, an alignment cue halfway through the hold and "and release" at the end, at a speed you choose. A soft chime between poses is optional too.

Is this a replacement for a class with a teacher?

No. The app helps you practise at home between classes. A teacher can see your shapes and adjust them. The Studios tab lists studios near you, with their published styles and class times.
