Yoga sequence builder

The yoga sequence builder lets you plan a practice from the YogaPhilippines.com pose library. Search for a pose, tap to add it, set how long to hold it, move poses up or down, then print the sequence. Every pose links to its own page with steps, cues and modifications.

How does the sequence builder work?

Type part of a pose name into the search box, such as tree, lunge or twist, and matching poses appear as buttons. Tap one to add it to your sequence. Each pose arrives with a hold of five breaths, which you can change to seconds, minutes or “each side”. Use the arrows to move a pose up or down, and the cross to remove it. When the order looks right, press print. The printed page shows only the numbered table, without the site menus.

Every pose in the list links to its page in the pose library, where you will find step-by-step instructions, modifications and common mistakes. If you are unsure of a shape, open the link before you add it.

How do you build a balanced sequence?

A simple structure works for most home practice:

  1. Arrive: a seated or lying pose and a few slow breaths.
  2. Warm up: gentle movement such as cat-cow or a few rounds of sun salutation.
  3. Standing poses: lunges, warriors and balances.
  4. Floor work: twists, hip openers and forward bends.
  5. Rest: finish in savasana for a few minutes.

Do one-sided poses on both sides, right first, then left. For ready-made examples to copy or adapt, browse the yoga sequences for morning, bedtime and more. The visual yoga poses chart helps you scan the library by shape.

What are the limits?

The builder does not check your sequence for safety or balance. It will let you place a deep backbend first, or stack every inversion in a row. If you are new, stay with familiar poses from the guide to yoga poses for beginners, and keep holds short until you know how a pose feels.

Stop any pose that causes sharp pain, and see a doctor or physio if pain persists. If you are pregnant, injured or have high blood pressure, ask your doctor which poses to leave out, and avoid inversions until you have.

Questions

Does the sequence builder save your sequence?

No. The sequence lives in the page while it is open, and nothing is stored or sent anywhere. Print it, or save it as a PDF from the print dialog, before you close the tab.

How many poses should a home yoga sequence have?

There is no set number. A short practice might use eight to twelve poses with a few breaths each. What matters more is the order: warm up first, build to the harder poses, then wind down and rest at the end.

Can you write your own hold times in the sequence builder?

Yes. Each pose starts at five breaths, and the hold box takes any text, such as 30 seconds, 1 minute each side or 3 rounds. Write it the way you will read it on the mat.
